Re: ABANDONED & DISUSED RAILWAYS: High St - Bridgeton Central

Could the recently awarded games and their location in and around Parkhead not mean some of these lines are considered for re-opening? It would be nice to see.

Re: The Glasgow Taliban

Can old trouble-makers join in this thread?

::):

Only kidding. Regardless of religion, race or cultural bent, this seems to me to be just an old-fashioned case of bullying. It happens everywhere but a quality publication like the Record would never use it to sell papers would it...?

Re: Looking for a quiet, safe venue

Happy shopping! :D ::): Good answer. Only kidding, of course. Good luck finding a boozer. Have you thought about what used to be the Brunswick Cellars on Sauchiehall Street. I dunno what it might be called now but I remember it had plenty of alcoves and couches once you went up and away from the bar.

Re: Is Red Lizard any good?

It was the Blackfriars that threw me. Babbity's is on Blackfriars Street; thought Blackfriars would be too. You can see what thinking does! :)

Re: Is Red Lizard any good?

Cheers for that Ony and Fossy. Babbity's is the one tucked away on Blackfriars Street off High Street if I remember right. Blackfriars? Is that on the same stretch?

College Bar, right at the top of High Street?

Is Red Lizard any good?

A mate of mine has nominated this as a possible newly adopted local for when I move back as it's just round the corner from where I'll be living. I was wondering if anyone has any tales to tell or experiences to share, good or bad.

Cheers

Re: Black and white with colour.

One I did a while ago. Quite bold and not as subtle as some but I think it looks OK.

Re: Been away for a while...

Hollowhorn?.... welcome back. Cheers, I remember HH now! My plan is not to tangle with anyone to be honest. Now that I'm coming back I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and going on some of the walks. Being in the city centre I'm also sure there will be fairly regular extra-curricular activi...

Been away for a while...

I don't know if anyone remembers me from a while ago (probably best forgotten given some of my exchanges) but I'm coming back, figuratively and literally. I've got myself a city-centre flat sorted out and get the keys this Friday. I hope everyone is well and I look forward to contributing to the sit...

If kids want to be nasty to other kids, they will be and your the one kidding yourself that school uniform will change that. It will never completely eliminate it, that's correct. People will always fight for different reasons. But it does at least eliminate one of the more obvious differences - Lo...

It spares the poorer kids being embarrassed by not wearing the latest fashions and poorer parents don't feel pressured to buy a whole new wardrobe every few weeks. For those reasons alone, they're worthwhile. There's also a benefit of being 'dressed' for school rather than sticking on any old gear ...

One of my colleagues summed up school uniform in one sentence;

"They say school uniform gives a sense of identity, I say it takes it away...."

I'm also deeply suspicious of any grown adult that wants to tell someone elses kids how to dress.
