according to my dads birth certificate his father(my grandfather) was a turner which is someone who turns metal or wood on a lathe which was most likely metal which is engineering related as my dad was good at car repair and did all his own on his cars ive also got this skill as i like repairing bic...

my mum used to live at 17 shields road and the bombers used to try and bomb the ship yards but dont know if there was any other bomb damage in the area she also told me that there was an underground air raid shelter in the playground of shields road school can anyone confirm that this shelter existe...

My grandparents (mums mum and dad) lived at shields road number 17 and i can remember tongs ya bass sprayed on the wall of the bridge which goes over what used to be the railway line down to the iron ore terminus as far as i can remember it was first on there in the sixties and was still on the wall...
