Number 44 bus in the 1960s

Trying to find out what the destination a 44 bus would have shown in the 1960s going to the south side of Glasgow.

Page 32 of

http://www.govanhistory.org.uk/docs/Essay.pdf

RIP House Of Sher

Was in The House Of Sher and it was almost empty of stock. Guy serving says due to hard times the place is closing down. Shame, always good for a bargain.

Re: Pub on Sauchiehall St circa 1980

Possibly turned into one but not when I frequented it. It was a typical city centre pub for 20 to 30 yr old and I spent my misspent youth in it with my wife to be. Now 30 yrs married this new year

Re: Pub on Sauchiehall St circa 1980

There is indeed a post on Centre Court which says along the lines that it was difficult to get into unless you were a poser and the barmaids wore very short white skirts. From a guys point of view it was very pleasing to the eye but full of wankers. Was only in it once. The pub I am speaking about w...

Pub on Sauchiehall St circa 1980

Trying to remember a pub I would frequent circa 1980 sauchiehall st. I am sure it was not too far from centre court. when you walked in there was a narrow bar running up to the right and then it opened out to a larger bar. The sofas were green I think.

Stevie The Barber

If any of you use (used) Crow Road Barbers owned by Stevie Burns, just to let you know his last day was yesterday, (Sat 28th). He was offered a new job that he could not refuse. His shop was also a small sports museum with many photos, autographs etc. Really nice guy and will be missed. I went in on...

Re: QE2 Launch

I was at the launch of the QE2. My dad was a fitter in the yards at the time and we were all invited. For a young lad who stayed with 5 other family members in a room and kitchen this was luxury. I can still remember my draw dropping wne I saw the swimming pools. My dad died a year back and I was cl...
