I remember me and my brother cycling down the ramps from the library on level 3 i think, skidding round every corner on the slippery tiles a...

Re: Hidden Cumbernauld.

This is a good website for an overlay of past and present maps.

http://geo.nls.uk/search/mosaic/

The slider at the top middle guides you between the old and new maps.

Try googling Pollockshole, Bogedge, or Ravenswood House. Some info on the beginnings of Ravenswood and seafar. Anyone got any pics of Ravenswood area, or info when it was built etc. I live there now (since 1998) but come from Kirky originally. Early memories of Cumbernauld are my dad taking me and m...

Re: Hidden Cumbernauld.

Douglas Alexander has an unsurpassable collection of pre new town photos in his Flickr allbums. Look at Stirling Road in 1956 HERE and a view which includes the two storey building and bridge in question from 1958 HERE Edit: add A73 construction, 1967 Douglas Alexander has some great pics in his hu...

It's part of the old Carlisle to Stirling road that goes over the cumbernauld railway line, just outside The Real Spice takeaway just off South Carbrain Road http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7037/6956740449_1531010073_o.jpg cumbernauld rd by Beavi...
