Re: Looking for Calimero (rare old cartoon)

I see there's also an official Calimero Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CalimeroOfficial/ If you haven't already, I guess this gives you another option for contacting the people behind the website? Plus you could have a go at commenting on the page itself, to see if you can attract the att...

Re: Looking for Calimero (rare old cartoon)

Judging by the age I was when I watched Calimero, it was broadcast here in the 1970s rather than the 1980s. I think this is the main problem with finding clips.

Might be worth trying the website owner again. Good luck!

Re: Looking for Calimero (rare old cartoon)

Calimero was my favourite show when I was a toddler, although I apparently just cried along with every episode. The trouble you're going to have is that it aired (before Crossroads like you say) a few years before most folk had any means of making recordings of TV programmes. As you'll know, it stil...

Re: Scotway House, Castlebank Street.

What a shame - like many others I had a soft spot for this building and every time I passed it, I hoped it would still be saved. The dreadful museum, on the other hand, just makes me miss the old Transport Museum.

Re: Queen Street Tunnel refurbishment

I'm guessing they might be under a tiny bit of pressure to get it sorted for the Edinburgh Fringe in August :)

Re: Project Updates: St Peter's Seminary

St. Peter's is being re-named Hinterland, apparently. I've now gone from having some reservations about the NVA project to gnashing my teeth about it :x

Re: The meat-free thread

The Hug and Pint on Great Western Road is a newish vegan place - Asian-inspired food which isn't to my taste (the time I went I had some sort of plantain dish) - but another option if you like that sort of thing.

Re: Project Updates: St Peter's Seminary

Yes, they are asking people not to take photos inside the building. At one part, though, folk did start taking photos - as you go round, you will be asked at one part to switch off the light you are carrying (everyone gets a light on the way in) - and I reckon folk felt they could take photos more d...

Re: Project Updates: St Peter's Seminary

Has anyone else been to (or planning to go to) Hinterland, the NVA sound and light show at St Peter's? I was there last night, and I have to admit I found it quite difficult seeing the place inevitably covered in fences so you can only see certain parts now - they had completely restricted access to...

Re: Kittens!

I'd also recommend Cats Protection, although if it's a kitten you're after then you'll almost certainly have to join a waiting list. The Glasgow branch's list is closed at the minute as they've had so much demand for kittens. They're still the best people to approach though, so it may be worth tryin...

Re: Lost record shops of Glasgow

Superjags, Music Mania was a fairly short-lived shop in the 90s if I remember correctly, so if you were there in 1977 it's likely it was a different name.

Re: George Square - removal of statues - objections

And what's the stuff covering half the square in option 3? Cotton wool? Smouldering tarmac?
