Re: Tower Block Demolitions - Rolling Updates!

My theory about the red road flats delay is that when they were going to blow them down for the commonwealth they would work fast to get everything prepped in time. But when they decided to can the idea they could slow back down a bit since there was no longer a rush. Actually, were they not going t...

Re: Ruchill Hospital (Old hospital buildings off Bilsland Dr

I've just been revisiting this thread and seen Dazza's post with the stunning pictures taken at the tower. But I'm still intrigued - how did you get up that floor?!

Church of the Immaculate Conception, Maryhill

Hi, sorry if this has been posted elsewhere - did a search and couldn't find anything. I am looking for photos and more information about the second church of the immaculate conception - not the one that is currently there, but the one before that, built around 1957 and demolished in the 80s. It is ...

Re: Jingles

I would have known if it was for polo/dels! It could have been up glassford street and/or first right first left. I seem to think it was for carpets or something.

Jingles

Has anyone noticed that there have been a lot of radio jingles recently sung in Scottish accents? I can't help but sing along! 1) we'll be claimin' PPIs 2) sell your car Scotland And my personal favourite: 3) universal windows! There was one in the 90s I loved but I can't remember what the shop was....

Re: Last Famous Person You Saw On The Streets Of Glasgow was

On 2 occasions recently I have been to Montgomery's on Radnor St. The first time I saw Gerard Butler and the second time I saw Kelly MacDonald.

The funny thing is they were sitting at the same table!

Re: bad driving

Ugh, don't get me started! I was driving along Southpark Ave and there was a car waiting at the junction, as if waiting to turn left. I waited behind it for a while before realising she was just sitting there on her phone! I tooted and she pulled in slightly to the left. As I went round her she look...

It looks so similar to Ruchill! Is the tall tower in the centre still standing at Stobhill?

Re: Virginia Court

I note that a press release in the very first post in this thread states it will be like Covent Garden - hmmm, not sure that has come true! I loved Virginia Galleries, I bought my first black leather biker jacket there in 1996, in a shop on the top floor, can't remember what it was called. I can als...
