Re: THe Party's Over

Oh, I don't know, I suppose it all depends on where you look.
Life has become more complicated and for some more self-centered but I still come across examples of community spirit or individuals/ groups of staff who go that bit further in the NHS.

Now perhaps my memory is really bad but I don't remember that part at all and not sure Graham Norton did either. I've got that tr...

Re: What Are You Currently Reading

One of the best of those officer class first world war memoirs, but I think it is pipped by Edmund Blunden's Undertones of war. Both great reads though. I've not read Blunden's book, though I have heard of it, must try and get a hold of a copy. I have read both books and they are excellent. Of cour...

I grew up in the Gorbals in the 60's and don't recall this story.

Cos it was the 50s ::):

Except the 50's was quite close to the 60's so you might have expected the story to still be well known

Re: Hidden Glasgow War Memorials.

Goodbye to All That: Robert Graves
Reading it again, just because I've just read a biography of W.H.R Rivers by Richard Slobodin and he's mentioned in that.

Re: D you have a pet?

We have a very large, grumpy rabbit, who is quite old in rabbit terms at 7.
He's got a very definite personality and deeply devoted to my wife, I think he sees me as a rival ::):
