Do they still do the 'free' snacks? Years ago we did something similar, and used to go in and spend some time wandering about and taking advantage of these. An hour or two free entertainment watching folk lose their money, a snack thrown in to stop you getting peckish, and not a penny out of pocket...

Re: Mystery building in Linthouse

Alan - I think the sub station building has always been a sub station, but perhaps part of a previous group of buildings such as a factory / works which were cleared away for the Clyde Tunnel. I don't know if it now serves the Clyde Tunnel, it might. I recall reading somewhere that if a factory was...

Correct - I had a little look and it looks quite grand for a substation, the facade is red sandstone and the body of the building is in red brick and there ar...

Re: The Political Compass- Test

Light hearted bit of where do you sit on the big political map scale thingy. http://www.politicalcompass.org/ Tip. Dont dwell thinking about your answer as it will skew the result, just quick Aye's, no's, no way or thats for bloody sure. I came out as a fairly liberal-leftie , similar scores to Gha...

That clip was from his nightly Channel 5 chat show. It was filmed in the Apollo theatre in London. It was a very good show but got a bit tired towards the end of its run.

A lot of people use the casinos in Glasgow as somewhere to carry on drinking after pub chucking out time if they don't like night clubs.
I used to have a membership purely for this reason, never played the games or the puggies just stayed in the bar.

I had only spotted it from the tunnel cutting so it was difficult to see. I might pop over later and have a closer look and take a piccy or two.
